PRELUDES AND PROPS
FOR PRESENTATIONS

This has become one of the most popular ASTD-NEFL events! Don’t miss this opportunity to gain a new icebreaker, energizer, or prop!

Whether we are training a course, facilitating a meeting, leading a seminar, or giving a presentation, we need to warm up the crowd and focus attention. Preludes (a.k.a. Icebreakers) and Props help us accomplish that. Join us in sharing your favorite P&Ps. This interactive event will be packed with fun, learning, networking, and idea sharing. Have a great time while gathering practical information and ideas you will be
able to apply immediately.

OBJECTIVES:

· Expand your presentation 'toolkit' with new openers.

· Gain new practices to warm-up or energize an audience.

· Learn new ideas to incorporate props into your own presentations to maintain audience interest, reinforce the content, and make a session more interactive and more fun  for your participants.

THE PRELUDES:
Members are invited to direct their favorite icebreaker or energizer while the attendees practice the exercise. If you would like to facilitate an icebreaker or energizer at the meeting, please send the details of the activity to: programs@astdnefl.org for consideration.

We hope to have the schedule set by July 3, so please send your information quickly. Activities that can be facilitated from start to finish within 10 minutes are preferred.

THE PROP EXCHANGE:
We invite everyone who is attending to bring a prop they use in training, seminars, meetings, or presentations. (Don't be surprised to see such items as funny hats, koosh balls, stuffed animals and fun stickers). Props are not mandatory to attend. You are welcome to attend and observe, however only those who bring a prop will receive one in return.

How the Prop Exchange Works:
Each person who brings a prop will be invited to share with the attendees how he or she uses that prop in presentations. Then, by means of a random drawing, the demonstrator will donate the prop to the next demonstrator. This continues until all props have been shown.

You don’t need to bring a prop or facilitate a prelude to benefit from this program. You will be energized with all the ideas you gain from your peers!


ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THE MEETING CLOSES AT 5:00PM, MONDAY, JULY 14.


We will try to accommodate anyone who arrives at the meeting without preregistration if space and prepared meals permit.
The $5.00 surcharge for unregistered "walk-ins" applies to both members and non-members.

Cancellations
Because meal count must be guaranteed to the facility in advance, we can issue refunds only if cancellations are made by the third day prior to an event (Monday, for example, with a Thursday meeting.) If your schedule changes too late to cancel, you may send a substitute in your place.
