Have you ever watched a Hollywood movie and thought, "That scene would be perfect in my class!" Film – and the energetic discussions it stimulates – provides powerful insights. These leadership "moments of truth" illustrate what leaders do. Each scene encourages you to get into "the act," helping you to see yourself playing the lead role and gaining leadership insights in the process.Linda will set the stage for some applicable scenes from great feature films. We will all observe the scenes and then she will lead us through a discussion regarding leadership shown in the short scenes. Linda will also provide information on how you and your company can obtain copyright permission to use movie clips in training. It is not nearly as difficult as you think.About the Presenter Linda Plummer, MBA, SPHR, has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, specializing in employment, employee relations, organization development, executive coaching and training development and delivery. She managed a 600-person call center operation for AT&T Universal Card Services. Linda also has extensive experi-ence facilitating various types of meetings, including ones dealing with difficult business problems or interpersonal conflict. Linda founded Plummer & Associates (http://www.plummerhr.com/) in 1996.
Developing and delivering 2 to 4 hour training workshops has become a specialty of Linda's. She has a wide range of workshops available including: behavioral interviewing, bridging the generation gap, dealing with conflict, and various diversity topics. She was awarded the ASTD Trainer Excellence award for 2007.
Linda has an Executive MBA from Georgia State and a BA from Penn State. She is certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) and is qualified as a Myers Briggs practitioner. She has taught Training & Development in the Masters of Human Resources program at Webster University. Linda recently served on the board of the Northeast Florida Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), is currently on the board of the Business Leadership Network, and is a Study Circles facilitator with the Human Rights Commission.
