Instructional Design: How to Sell the Real Value
Presenter: Dick Handshaw
Event Description:
Many of us are called upon to create learning initiatives that are impactful, on-target, high quality … and often within a short timeframe. (Think, “You want it when?”) We find ourselves justifying the way we create these learning initiatives.
Dick Handshaw, of Handshaw, Inc., offers invaluable insight into the world of instructional design and how to communicate its value. Highly respected in the design field, Dick gives a historical perspective of instructional design as well as practical advice on how to apply different design models to different needs.
In this session, we’ll answer such questions as:
- Does cheaper development really save money?
- What are some strategies for shortening instructor led training?
- Is a systematic design approach still relevant in today’s world?
Dick will use several real world case studies to demonstrate the value of certain strategies and design models. You will learn ways to communicate the real value of your results. And, you will even learn when it’s best to (sometimes) keep measurement data to yourself.
Attend this event if:
- You design training curriculum for your organization.
- You manage the training design function within your organization.
- You are part of a team that impacts learning.
- You are curious to hear one of the industry’s foremost training and design leaders.
- You want to connect with other workplace learning professionals.
Join us for an engaging session at Maggiano’s at The Town Center on July 21.
