Back by popular demand, Speed Networking returns to ASTD Northeast Florida chapter!  As the corporate equivalent to speed dating, speed networking is a structured, lively and effective way to make many new professional contacts in a short period of time. 

Countless ASTD members say that one of the main reasons they join ASTD is for networking.  By fully participating in this meeting, we guarantee you will come away with at least three new worthwhile contacts. 

Here's how it works. Participants move methodically from one station to the next, round robin style, introducing themselves quickly and spending just a few minutes getting acquainted. There is no time for in-depth conversations; participants identify who to seek out later, whether it is at the conclusion of the event or with a follow-up call or email. 

Speed Networking was a big hit with the chapter two years ago when this high energy event was rated as one of the most successful chapter gatherings. So, bring your business cards and join us on the evening of November 18 at the University of Phoenix.  The event begins at 6:00 with a casual dinner (salad and pizza), followed by Speed Networking!

About Our Facilitator:

Marilyn Feldstein, past Chapter President and current Vice President of the Career Management SIG, is CEO and Founder of Career Choices Unlimited, Inc.  Marilyn will give us valuable networking tips and then facilitate Speed Networking for us.

Marilyn has more than 20 years experience in all aspects of career management and has held management positions of increasing responsibility at AT&T American Transtech, Inc., AccuStaff PeopleSystems, and Merrill Lynch & Company.  She earned her master’s degree at Penn State University and her bachelor’s degree at The University of South Florida.  She was honored with The Excellence in Coaching and Mentoring Award sponsored by UNF, ASTD and SHRM and has been featured on TV 4, Channel 47 News, National Public Radio and Clear Channel Radio.  She is a frequent speaker at numerous professional associations discussing career-related topics, and her specialty is teaching people how to build and maintain relationships throughout their careers.  She is also a contributor to a number of résumé and career books and provides career coaching and outplacement services to help clients find passion in their careers.
