Presented by Darrin Hayes
Instructional Designer and Trainer
Nemours Children's Clinic

Note: Due to an unavoidable schedule conflict, this program replaces the previously scheduled one on LMSs.

Since their inception, wikis have provided opportunities for individuals to publish content and share knowledge via the web easily without having to write code themselves. Also, many organizations have turned to wikis as a solution for managing documentation or collaborative activities, and in some cases even as components of their elearning initiatives. Wikis offer many advantages including reducing email clutter, empowering team members to contribute content online, and publishing of content that is easily searchable.

In this session, Darrin Hayes will share a case study of how Nemours is utilizing an enterprise-level wiki for knowledge sharing and project documentation. He'll also lead a discussion on some of the advantages as well as challenges in using wikis, and share some tips on getting started using a wiki, or administering a wiki space for your team.

Darrin Hayes is an instructional designer and trainer for the Nemours Children's Clinic, one of the nation's largest health care systems dedicated to the health of children. Along with designing and implementing e-learning projects, he manages the Nemours Learning Services intranet and wiki sites, and develops standards for online publishing for various learning initiatives at Nemours.
