People learn without training. What?!?! It’s true! Formal training is only a small part of an organization's complex learning ecosystem. The majority is made up of informal learning channels that learning and development (L&D) often doesn’t support and may not even know about. In this session, we’ll explore the components of a modern learning ecosystem. We’ll demonstrate how these components work together to empower employees and enable performance improvement. We’ll discuss challenges L&D may encounter when working to change a learning ecosystem. You’ll walk away with practical ideas that will help you start shifting your approach to learning so that you can meet the needs of today’s employees.

By attending this session, you will be able to:

  • Identify the elements that make up your learning ecosystem.
  • Enable employees to drive their own learning with on-demand resources.
  • Activate managers to support employee performance improvement.
  • Strengthen formal training initiatives using informal learning strategies.
  • Begin the shift toward an employee-centered learning ecosystem.
