Interest Group (eSIG)
All About Blended Learning
Celebrate our Chapter’s eSIG 10th Anniversary with us! Over the
years, many of us have transitioned from traditional Information
and Learning Technology (ILT) to eLearning delivery. Today,
learning professionals have a plethora of choices which include e-
learning, classroom (live or virtual), workshops, Web sites, job
aids, simulations, books (hard copy or virtual) and many, many
other choices.
Well designed blended learning addresses more learning style
requirements, a wider audience, and increased performance or
learning results.
This eSIG will help you answer key questions about how you can
deliver the various components of a well-designed blended learning
program.
During this session, we will:
-
Define Blended Learning (What elements can be added to
create a blended program?)
-
Identify business needs that can be addressed by Blended
Learning (When and why should you incorporate Blended
Learning?)
-
Brainstorm ways to incorporate Blended Learning solutions
(Where can you incorporate Blended Learning into your
existing programs?)
In preparation for this eSIG lesson, think of a potential course or
topic you might consider developing into a blended delivery. You
will use your content as an “acid test” of the ideas and concepts
discussed during the program. Participants will also receive
SkillSoft’s white paper, “Blended Learning Strategies: Selecting
the Best Instructional Method.”
Please join us for networking, coffee, and bagels during this
informative start to your day.
Presenters: Adrienne Herndon and Lynne Orr-Holley
Adrienne Herndon, Learning Architect with Lender Processing
Services, Inc., and Lynne Orr-Holley, Senior Management
Development Specialist with EverBank, will show and tell about
their companies’ blended learning solutions. Both Adrienne and
Lynne are long-time ASTD members active with eSIG. Lynne was
chapter president in 2002 when eSIG was started.
ASTD Competency Model:
The Areas of Expertise, as defined by the
ASTD Competency Model, include nine critical
