Featured Presenter:
Candace Moody is Vice President of
Communications for WorkSource, the regional
workforce development organization. She
directs corporate communications and
workforce services for six counties in Northeast Florida.

Candace is also a freelance writer, and her writing has appeared in
a monthly column for The Florida Times Union Employment Page,
the Jacksonville Magazine, the regional business magazine 904,
and several national blogs and websites. Her own blog, @work (at
work), can be found at the WorkSource website or on the
WorkSource Facebook page. Candace is frequently quoted in the
Jacksonville media on labor market issues.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Candace came to
WorkSource with over 15 years of experience in private industry.
Her background includes experience in Human Resources,
Recruiting, and Career Consulting. Candace completed her MBA
from Jacksonville University in 2001.

Her community involvement includes serving as a former chair of
the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women. She is the
Chair of the Jacksonville Women’s Business Center Advisory
Board. She was selected as a 2009 Woman of Influence by the
Jacksonville Business Journal and was selected as the Corporate
Leader of the year in 2011 by the Women Business Owners of
North Florida.

ASTD Competency Model:
The Model emphasizes: (1) foundational
competencies, or those that are important to
everyone in the field, and (2) the specific areas
of expertise (AOEs), which are the specialized
knowledge and actions required by specific
roles. This month’s program supports the new
ASTD foundational competency of
“Interpersonal Skills” and the competency
model quadrants of “Performance Improvement” and “Change
