                                     Bob Pike

In this fast-paced, interactive session...
Bob will explore personal learning preferences and help each
attendee identify their own; share learning strategies that appeal to
everyone; and model how to facilitate learning across all
generations.

The ADDIE model focuses on content and is the standard for
instructional design.  Nowhere in the model does it look at how the
individual participant actually learns best.

Join Bob Pike as he helps each attendee identify their own
learning preferences using the following questions:

1. Are you a practical learner or an informative learner?
2. Do you like specific structure provided for you or do you prefer
to create and organize your own structure?
3. Do you learn best with others or on your own?

Bob will then show how you can create courses to engage and
allow for all of the learning preferences.  The strategies will be
modeled during the session, but you'll specifically explore 11
strategies that appeal to all generations --be it traditionalist,
boomer, gen x, or millennial -- focused on choices, accountability,
participation, variety, networking, teamwork, role assignments,
recognition, and much, much more.

ASTD Competency Model:
The Model emphasizes: (1) foundational
competencies, or those that are important to
everyone in the field, and (2) the specific areas
of expertise (AOEs), which are the specialized
knowledge and actions required by specific
roles.
This program supports the new ASTD
foundational competencies of “Global Mindset”
and “Interpersonal Skills” and the competency
model quadrants of “Training Delivery”, “Evaluating Learning
Impact”, “Knowledge Management”, and “Instructional Design.”
